Everyone has different values. What are two examples of values?
Humor, Caring, responsibility, education, family, helping others

Family, friends, teachers, media, culture, media
What is a need?
Something thought to be a necessity or essential items required for life
Needs- A personal automobile, a refrigerator, three meals a day, shoes, warm and safe
place to live
What is a want?
Something unnecessary but desired or items which increase quality of living
Wants- brand new clothing, daily soda or coffee beverage, downloading music, Watching or
participating in athletic activities, computers, A television
Tradeoffs- giving up one thing for another
Opportunity Cost- the value of the next best alternative that must forgone when making a decision or
the benefit you could have received by taking an alternative action
